Power Plug on Bridge at Highway 17

Hello people...

Well I think it's called Highway 17, but anyhow I've got to the train transport bridge, made my way over to the far side over the steel girders and all and arrived in a room where you have a switch to press, also in that room is a large power cable and plug laying on the floor, but I cannot do a thing with it. I've tried putting it into the socket before pressing the switch on the far right hand corner of the room and also tried it afterwards, but I can't seem to get it in (he says!!). I'm using both the U(se) button or the gravity gun, but none of them work. Tired of messing about with it, I managed to get back to the other side of the bridge after shooting down the troup carrier. When done killing all and sundrae on that side, I managed to drive along the bridge, dodging the oncoming train and haved moved on to the next section, Sandunes or Sand.. something or other! Have I missed something? or did I not really need to use the power plug?

The power plug is connecting with the socket originally, and it generates a force wall which block your way to switch. Actually, you have to unplug it and let the force wall fades before get near the switch. However, you said that the plug is unpluged initially. Well, probably it is disconnected because you threw a grenade or something which blew off the plug before you step into the room. You can play it once more to understand what I mean. In short, you didn't miss anything.

Ah I see. Thanks anyway, it explains things now as I did throw in a grenade.
