Problem in Chapter 12 - looked, but no answers

I'm inside the museum and have to take out the 3 generators, but the room with the red lasers has closed on me..

I thought i'd be clever and use the grav gun to hurl some furniture into the room and detonate the charges while i hung around outside, but the door has sealed and is making a beeping sound and i cant get in. I've taken out the other 2 generators but can't get back inside, so i'm assuming its not time-based.

To cap it all off, my last saved game is in entanglement, the autosave has overidden my 'pre-red laser room' game and i'd rather not go back to it...is there a way back in?

Yes, that's not clever to blow stuff up there . You need to avoid the lasers in that room, and at some point to make a few jumps on the pipes.

Don't you have a more recent quicksave? If you have no recent saves, you can try typing "restart" in the console. I can't remember now where that would put you, but I think it will be where you enter the security nexus building.

That's right - if you trigger one of those red lasers, it's pretty much game over. You're not meant to survive setting them off. Too clever for your own good! :E

cool thanks, i found a walk-through-walls console cheat and used that. But i dont like the fact that i had to resort to it, there should be another way...

There is another way, but you opted to abuse the gravity gun!

Well, as I said, you could have used the restart console command - it would be, essentially, the way to complete the part without cheating as you did.

yes its really easy to do that part just find ways around the red laser like jumping on pipes and stuff
