Hey, I am new here and I hope this problem hasn't been up before. I searched the forum, but couldn't find any help.

Anyway, I tried playing deathmatch again last night. Everything is working perfectly and normal, all the way until I am about to join a game, and it gets to "Sending Client Info", there it stops. And nothing else happens, the last 4-5 dots, won't come and it won't let me join the game.

I have tried with several different maps and games, everyone with the same result.

Has anyone else had this problem, or knows what it could be and how I could fix it?

Thanks for any replies.

The only thing i can think of is maybe your firewall is blocking you from connecting to a server and from what you said "when it sends the client info" (your PC and game info the server needs to allow you to connect) it may be blocking you until you click on unblock hl2dm in windows.

Maybe you do not own the game legally, or maybe you do not have a open port to allow you to connect to a game server online. It could be anything and i don't think anyone here can really help you as no one here can trouble shoot your pc if we are not there, this might be something you may need to do on your own.

Thanks for your answer.

I most definately own the game legally.
I've had the game for a long time, never had a problem

But I've been away for almost a year, and had this problem when I got back. Computer had been untouched, same firewall and such.

That's why I thought it was weird, and maybe some other people have had the same problem since last time I played. Hence why I tried here.

But I will look into it then, and hopefully it will be fixed, cause I missed playing deathmatch :/

Thanks again for the help!

Try looking around on the Steam support page (http://support.steampowered.com ) and maybe post on their forums (http://forums.steampowered.com ). I've seen a few others with this bug, but I'm not sure what the solution is.

Try deleting the clientregistry.blob in your C: Program Files: Steam directory (or wherever your base steam folder is located), Steam will redownload the file and maybe it will help. I usually delete that when I have any problems and they're fixed.

Sorry. I cannot replay this post because i don't know that game.
