Problem with end us sandtraps

I'm supposed to be learning how to control the things that come up out of the sand and I can't get anything to work. The screen I'm looking at has a small pit and a dead guy hanging from a pole. I feel like a dipshit

the weapon on number 5 I believe is what you need. Cycle through ur weapons untill yu find something that looks like a flower and is called 'bugbait'.
All u need to do is toggle it and throw it wherever you want your new friends to.
