problems

Hey,

Last week i bought a msi geforce FX 5200 T128 card.
it works fine for NFSU & DOOM3. the problem is for farcry & HL2.
When i play farcry using the new Drivers(6.2) the screen, its blue.
and for HL2, the Charactors (eyes,wepones,Environment) are purple some times(Blue).
I installed an old driver(4.XX), Farcry runs fine but HL2 is the same.

does anyone have solution

wrong forum, try reinstalling HL2.

One other solution is to buy another card... ATI and Geforce cards are recommended for HL.

His card IS a geforce card...

not that old, and should run HL2, so i dont think your point is valid. What your problem is, is that not all the textures for the game have been copied onto your computer, and you need to validate your files so make sure these files are either added, or replaced cos they are corrupted. To validate your HL2 files HERE

I'm using a Geforce FX5200 and have the latest drivers. I had no problems running the game.

shiraz, what on earth are these '6.2' drivers you are talking about?? Try here, and you may have more luck: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_ten.php?UID=348&kind=2
Failing that, or if you don't trust MSI, just get the latest drivers off nVidia's website. Which are v66.93.

Hey Guys, First of all the game ran perfectly with my old card(Geforce2 mx). and yeh, i installed the
latest drivers. it didn't solve the problem. i will try reintalling HL2 again. see whether that will work.

I couldn't download the files. what are these files,
can i find it in the HL2 cds

yeah hectic is right- that's your problem.
dunno why it didn't do it when you first played the game tho, or how you got into it without validation

hey zombie, I didn't know about any validation stuff. I will try to intall the game again
