Okay, if a player gets burnt (do you see the effects of it on the player?) like burnt skin etc

What like scorch marks on the hands of the HEV suit? I doubt it...

No way, as far as I know you would need a completely new model and animations. Essentially, you would have to remake all of Gordons hand animations with the burn mark.

All that work for a little burn mark? I am happy with the fire indecator on the HEV suit. :)

Actualy you dont need new animations.

I suppose the indicator will tell you if you get burned.

I dont think the HEV suit that you wear allows you (the player) to be burnt. I dont see how you would see any effect to yourself anyways..
if you mean other characters or npcs in the game, I'm sure that it could be done, I dont know if it has been made so that characters turn all burnt and crispy after being burnt though. I know the zombies can be burnt, I dont remember how they looked after being burnt. I would assume a quick few changed textures on the model would be enough or something

I think that wouldn't be hard to do. Now here's a task: make a mod so that blood spurts out of someone's neck when they get headshot (or other limbs).

Can't wait for fluid dynamics to start appearing in games, can you imagine all the mods with artirial spray (shudder).

Well, I learned recently that Black and White II has a rather nice-looking liquid dynamics system (flowing lava, no less), lazicsavo, so maybe that's not as far off as some people are saying...

That's probably an animation.

Nope, it's specifically stated to be part of the physics simulation.

The liquids react to physical forces. Lava can be "poured tactically", for instance...
