Questions about vents

1. What dimentions and how high off the ground do vents have to be?
2. What type of model is the metal thing which covers the air vents (e.g. prop_static, prop_physics etc.)?
3. Are there any tutorials on making vents on the internet because i can't find any at all?
 
You can try to decompile a map (with the vents you want in it) with vmex and check there. That's usually the best way to learn.

P.S Some maps are decompile protected so ask the author for the *.vmf
 
Are there any posted on this site in .vmf form?

They do not have to be at any hight, whatever you like is fine. When you're making your own map there really is no wrong way to do anything as long as you like it.

What I do is search for the vent texture in the texture list and then apply it, I then press control and T while the vent is selected and make it a func_breakable. Set the flags how you like and it's ready.
