I want to play HL 1 Source. However when I try to buy it on Steam it says I am only allowed one purchase and I bought HL2 in EB, so far I have never seen a store released HL Source. What to do ? What to do ? :naughty:

Um, you go out and buy the original half-life, because you realise that it is better and that there is no way that you can get it on source now...
sry

you cant upgrade packages for the time being and you can't buy HL:S seperatly.

Just go buy the original from the bargin bin :P heh

And you get all the free mods that come with HL.

Already have it just wanted to see the Source Engine in there.

Not much of a difference, really. Ragdoll is the biggest addition, otherwise it's just better lighting, the odd 3d skymap (which look exactly the same as the 2D ones) and shiny surface.

Really? Sod that then! I'll stick with my 7-yo copy of HL, then! No, and I don't even have the high-def package that came with Blue Shift either - not anymore at least! :naughty:

I got the collectors edition with HL2, HL: Source, and CS: Source, for $50 CDN.

gold edition $90 usd

it was worth it since I didi'nt have any legitimate copies of the older ones.

If you have the original HL, don't worry about HL:Source. It has ragdolls, better lighting, shiny surfaces, good water and good-looking 3D skyboxes in Surface Tension... other than that, there really isn't much to it. You won't feel too much difference, and it will not feel like a 2004 game.

And it still has the old textures, which look really out of place next to the spangly water, shinyness and lighting effects.

Since you've answered this guys question, and i don't think this is worthy of a new thread, has anyone else noclipped across where you see gman on those binoculars. I thought about it last night and did it today, and it works, so you can officially say its cubbage and gman from the screenies below. Meh probably something i missed a long time ago, but kinda cool.

there are also subtle gameplay differences.

for example, have you noticed that the headcrabs all act like hl2 headcrabs? ie. faster, but you can kill them with one crowbar whack.

Only half the forum.

And you can pin things to walls with the crossbow. Which is just fun.
