Quick Vidcard Question

I'm sick of my GF4MX, I just got DX:IW and can't run it wihtout Pixel Shader 1.1 ;_;

I've set my mind on a 9600 Pro, but the new "XT" is only 10 dollars more and a few sites I've seen have even stopped selling the Pro... is XT faster? Does it have more features?

Also I'd like to know if XT is missing anything that Pro would have. Thanks again in advance.

PS - Will it run HL2 j/k LOL!!1

Get the XT over the pro, it's definitely a little better.. The 9600 XT and pro have the same features; XT is clocked higher, is all.

The XT series also has that overdrive feature (I hear it's pretty useless overall, though) that dynamically overclocks your card when it needs extra juice.

Yep. Gigabyte is a good brand, looks like a nice buy. Specs match up with the (built by) ATi 9600XT

Anyhow, my bad, the XT also has a faster fillrate than the 9600 pro. Even more a reason to get the XT over the pro

Gigabyte AREN'T a great ATi card manufactorer... go with Sapphire or Hercules

Gigabyte DO NOT offer the HL2 coupon with their XTs
so be aware of that.

Yeah man I know the pain, same thing happened to me with DX:IW with my GF4, I ended up returning the game but then I got my new comp complete with a radeon 9800xt and bought it again :thumbs:

its a great game really
