I actually purchased this game, to see the original classic HL1 with a Source update, but I'm disappointed that the headcrabs, zombies, etc will no longer gib. Also, the Vorty's lightning attack sound seems to have been truncated - it was my favourite enemy attack in the game, but it too has been ruined.
My point is, gibbing has served FPS shooters fine ever since Quake, but I don't like the idea of a corpse of an enemy I can't break into pieces. Even Unreal Tournament 2003 had ragdoll corpses that were gibbed. Why can't HL2, or Source for that matter?
