Random freezing with HDR

For some reason HDR is causing my game to freeze every five or so minutes for about 5 seconds. Does anyone have a fix?

depends on what your hardware is

the best "fix" would prolly be to turn off hdr

I have a PNY 6800 GT.

Since DOD and HDR have been released I've had freezing problems with EVERY source game ... EVEN with HDR OFF!!

Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike:Source and DoD:Source.

Like, I'm used to running everything with very high settings but now I've noticed if I turn my settings down a bit I don't freeze as often.

It might also have something to do with that ATI Driver that did something that was supposed to enhance your HL2 performance by using system ram for textures (I think .. lol)


Either way lately steam has hurt performance somehow.

Upgrade to newest drivers. Helped atleast for me, but im a Radeon user. Now instead im getting some weird freezing during level change...
