When you think you are safe and turn around and a zombie is there.

I can't wait till I am done it.

I have never played a Half Life game before but finished the whole thing in 3 days (about 6 hours of playing each day approximately)so you should be able to. I don't really like the level but it's kinda fun massacring countless Zombies. I hate the poison ones that chuck the poisonous headcrabs at you. Father Grigori is pretty kool.

Okay...
Ravenholm Threads Count: 2 (including mine)
LowLife: 1

I eventually did it. And wouldve kept going if I hadnt fallen off a building from getting freaked out by fast zombies and getting pissed off.

Dayyum straight coz pink is hawta den purple. (Mew is hawta then Mewtwo get it?)

You both shut chour pie-holes now, ya'hear?

wow, i thought suddenly rabarer might appear and say "pointless thread", like he has said to me many times..

There's already a thread in here dealing with the exact same topic. Move it on, people.

Play Ravenholm 3 times, and its not scary. I miss that scary feeling :(

I still haven't got up the guts to play Ravenholm yet. And I hate the fast zombies with a passion.

People who find Ravenholm scary weird me out. Perhaps it's because I've lived on unpowered islands full of scary trees... but, come on! The zombies are somewhat ridiculous.

Pointless thread. Ravenholm is supposed to be scary, it's no news.

Ohh boo hoo... Go get DooM 3 and play that without shitting yourselves kiddies. :)

Ravenholm is not that scary later, when you get used to seeing the fast zombies and they are really not anything to be afraid of.
Besides...it would be scary if the used ZOMBIE zombies(RE type, that eat flesh), but the headcrab zombies are just retarded.:P

Ohh boo hoo... Go get DooM 3 and play that without shitting yourselves kiddies. :)

I did that. It's not that scary. DooM3 wasn't very good for a coupla reasons:
a) Predictable
b) Too many monster closets

Seriously... the only part that really scared the s*** out of me was the part when you're running around looking for the power inverter, or whatever it is. Everything's quiet and then ALL OF A SUDDEN *AIIIEEEEE* the floor busts up and an imp pops out.

Hmmm, yeah, on the topic of the HL2 zombies not being very dangerous, well, I think that's an important point. I find that in the FPS world, a large part of what startles players is the sudden appearance of creatures who can kill you in no time at all, particularly when said creatures are encountered in confined spaces which make evasion difficult. I remember being scared by a lurking poison zombie in Anticitizen One (in a narrow and out of the way tunnel in the sewers). But as soon as it dawned on me that the bastard couldn't killed me on his own, I just weathered the crab attacks and shot his ass dead.

Traditionally, the zombies of horror films and horror fiction derive their psychological terror from two sources: 1) fear of infection, and 2) fear of being swarmed and overwhelmed by an inferior being (essentially a human debased to the form of anthropomorphic vermin). The Hl2 zombies, in contrast, don't really repesent either of the qualities, as they don't infect you and the Source engine doesn't really permit them to be present in truly terrifying numbers.

So, what does that leave? Atmosphere--a card which HL2 plays effectively on several occasions. But as I've said at least twice in the past, I find the dark and/or subterranean levels to be siginificantly scarier than Ravenholm. Grodon's entrance into Cell block does more to generate terror and apprehension than Ravenholm's zombie mayhem.

the Source engine doesn't really permit them to be present in truly terrifying numbers.

With Garry's mod you can. :D
I remember spawning like 30 fast zombies and taking them out with the AK-47... what fun. :P

Oh yea, everything is possible with Gmod!
Some guy made a starship troopers vid using the antlions.
Though it does start lagging a bit when i made my own.:D

Hehe, the time I spawned 40 Antlions and like 40 combine soldiers and tried to make them fight it out... except my computer nearly crashed. :D

Well i guess thats almost how much enemies the source engine can handle.
I think it might crash because of the amount of ragdolls it'd have to create is too much.

I've played Ravenholm now and it wasn't s hard as I thought it would be. Still hate the smegging fast zombies, though. The parts with them still aren't easy.

The only thing about them is that they're scary...they don't do much damage, they just freak you out.
And it makes them even easier to kill, since they do that retarded scream after they hit you.

The first time i played ravenholm i could only do it in the day but after the first time it was just fun

I tried F.E.A.R when i got it.

It was so freaking scary i pissed my pants when i saw the first enemy walking past the boards, talking to someone. ( and it was a scripted sequence...C'MON!).

Even the endings (spoilers) on youtube were freaky when Alma popped out somewhere.

It's really not good to know fear...it sucks:x

try playing it at night while playing F.E.A.R. at the same frigging time every1
