Anybody else remember the game?

Oh my god, that has to be my all time favorite platformer.

Interesting backstory, captivating levels that made you feel like you were a part of a world, a dark and adult yet at the same time childish and immature art direction, some nice comedy moments, and what has to be the best voicework in a video game, bar none.

/me goes to find n64 rom

I played a bit. I liked it on principle. Good adventure/platformers are harder to come by these days.

*PLAY PSYCHONAUTS*

...yeah. Good platformers/adventure games. Hard to come by. Yep.

Anyway, the french armless guy is pretty cool.

I've only played Rayman 3...which was way more fun/addictive than I thought it would be :D

Yeah, it was good. But the first Rayman still has to be the best.

I remember when I played the old Rayman, yikes it was difficult.

Great game. Some reallllly good locations that looked amazing like the pirate ships half lodged into walls and fused with all sorts of machinary and stuff. I loved the Robopirates, too.

I just remembered about those little explosive animals you could ride :D
Great game.

I've only played the demo of The Great Espace on the PC, can't remember much about it though.
Though Rayman 2 Revolution, which got released on Playstation 2 and is basically the same as TGE, I enjoyed much.

I've got all three raymans, #1 for psone, #2 for pc and n64, and #3 for pc. #1 will always be the best. very though, especially the washing machine lady, it took me more than a few months to find out how to beat her. i beat the first rayman when i was little. my favorite sections were bandland, mountains, art world, candyland, and the level where u have to jump on whales or something. the awesomest levels is when u can fly anywhere. back to #2, i found it quite fun and addictive. races and stuff were fun, and the level where u slide down to some ice castle.

The Music World on Rayman 1 was always a bitch to get through, but it was hella fun sliding around the clarinet-type things and stuff.

Can't find my Rayman 1 disc (PSX), so i'm playing through Rayman Advanced via VirtualBoy.

Lots of fun too :)

Rayman (1) was like going on an acid trip, kickass art direction. Number 2 was a great transition in 3D (loved the nightmare levels).

I hated Mr. Sax.

I got to the bit where you beat that scorpion man and then I couldn't go any further. I'm not sure why, maybe because I didn't collect enough of those pink things.

I was so unskillful. I beat Mr Sax and then got stuck forever on a section.

I don't know where the hell my disc went, either.

Rayman 2 was brilliant. I'm not sure what you mean about voice acting though... I had the N64 version, so all I got was gibberish. For me though, the Rayman-speak only furthered the whimsical atmosphere.

Rayman 3, on the other hand, made me cry. The graphics were amazing, and it really was fun while it lasted, but they made it so easy - unthinkable in a Rayman game. They took out the trippy 360 degree motion sequences too, which I thought was part of what helped make 2 so unique.
