Hello everyone!
At first: I am no professional level designer, but I am very enthused to create some stuff around the Source engine.
Sometimes I search for some reference pics and saw the Resident Evil 1 Remake for Gamecube lately and I was very impressed. The light and ambience is absolutely great and scary:

Would it generally be possible to build similar atmospheric maps with Source?
But the main question of mine is, what is the main feature behind it (the special usage of lighting, the special textures and models or all that together)?
Thanks for any replies/answers/ideas/suggestions!
