Reach Interactive Studios
Reach Interactive is currently looking for more staff members to take on board, and we want you to apply! We are recruiting a large selection of staff ranging from 2D Artists to Writers. You name it -- we need it!

What is Reach Interactive?
Reach Interactive was created in October of 2005 by Evan Goncalo. We create games using popular development SDKs, ranging from the Source to the Torque Engine. We are a volunteer organization, and all positions are non-paid. Our team members love working as a team, meeting like-minded people, and learning their trade while gathering experience all the while.

What does Reach Interactive offer?
Here at Reach Interactive we believe keenly in two different things, friendships and education. Since our studios are made up almost completely of internet based staff rather then an on site staff we rely on trust, dedication, and friendship above all else. If you would like to work on the Reach team we can offer a job full of like minded people. You'll gain professional experience in your field, and will have a finalized game to show future employers. You'll also be able to build up a large portfolio, and learn useful techniques that will help you down the road. People that remain dedicated throughout the game creation process will also receive a cut of the profit when the game reaches sales stage.

FAQ
Q.) Do you have a website?
A.) It's currently not available to the public.
Q.) What type of titles will you work on?
A.) Projects will be decided by the staff, and it could be any game type or genre.
Q.) Why are you recruiting so many positions?
A.) This is a brand new studio and we need to fill many positions, there is only a few current staff members.
Q.) Do you have any experience?
A.) Miscellaneous mod and art projects. I've used Photoshop for many years, lead multiple teams, and am currently learning map design.
Q.) I'm 16 or younger, can I join the team?
A.) You sure can! Our team is diverse and as long as you can act mature, and remain dedicated you are of course welcomed to come work and learn right along side older staff.

Any other questions or applications can be referred to our temporary email address at [email protected]. Thanks!

I know some of you veteran modders, and veteran HL2.net members are interested in a solid type of mod team that has reliable members, and I've spoken with a few that are interested. This offer is for anyone who is sick of mod teams dying out, and team members who get no work done. Cheers!

you never mentioned this before is this some kind of top secret operation? :D
i will of course help in every way i can. but i want those audio files! its now tuesday.

So, you need five coders? What exactly is your speciality, anyways?

Well, I don't want to strictly work on mod projects. At this point there is such a large variety of mods and mod teams that we need something different to stand out. Depending on what the team wants I'd want to be able to put together a complete game on a licensed engine, and we'd need such a large group of coders in order to tweak the engine, and to code many different aspects of the game. I've recently been looking at purchasing a license to create/sell torque engine based games, they have recently released shaders and such for the engine and I think if alot of us put our minds together we could make a bang up game. Thanks for the support crackhead, and Angry Lawyer I think you would benefit any coding team you become a part of. Cheers!

My advice would be start small, and work your way up. This sounds more than over-ambitious to me.

I don't think he has a license...

It seems that everyone these days thinks they can just start up their own fantastic "studio" without much experience.

What prior projects has "Reach Interactive" completed?

Well, I made an application and sent it.

w00t for lack of story writing openings in mods.

You'll note that his venerable studio was established last month, so I would venture to guess that their list of prior projects is probably nil.

But I suppose crackhead's word is as good as anyones (wow, how often do you get to say that?). Generally, talented modders, no matter what their area of specialty, attract attention. I say go for it... but first....

Keenly? What the hell kind of an adverb is that?!

Sorry. Had to say it.

Ha Nick, I love my use of "Keenly" thank you very much. Hahaha. As for the Torque engine it costs $100.00 dollars for the Game Engine, and $150.00 for the Shaders. Which would be coming out of my pocket for the team. I realize this is a very ambitious project and I think that is just what's needed in order to pull together a dedicated team. It'll be plenty to keep everyone busy. As for SixThree's question... considering this was made a month ago, and I'm recruiting a full staff... I'd say our only project that has been finished was this thread in the HalfLife2.net forums! Great isn't it? And as for Angry Lawyers comment (who always must be taken into consideration), I understand where you are coming from and I'm going to wait and see how this recruiting goes, and how those recruited feel about the projects and studio, and take it from there. Thanks for all the comments guys, and Tripod I'll check out your application ASAP. Thanks again!
