Recommeded PC Controllers for HL2

Hey, I'm new to half life 2, and I'm looking into a controller for my pc. I want something thats easy to setup and works well with HL2. So if you have any recommendations it would be a big help.

You should really just use a keyboard and a mouse. These peripherals are far superior to any controller, especially in FPS games.

Yup, learn mouse and keyboard, and never look back.

If its the mouse control your having a hard time with, try setting it to its lowest sensitivity, so you have to move the mouse miles to move it in game. Play like that for a few mins, then increase it a little, play for a few mins, increase it a little. You should find a sweet spot that works for you before long.

Just one more question, how come for deathmatch I can make setup more peripherals then in HL2 when setting up a controller. I borrowed a friends xbox style controller and I can only really set it up for deathmatch.

I would imagine because deathmatch came later, so they had the extra time to add these in.

Be advised, if you go on a server with a pad, you will get your arse handed to you.

That's true. Only a keyboard and mouse gives you enough sensitivity to catch plasma balls or physics objects that are flying at your face.

Mmmmm, I think since I'm a newbie at half life and have always been used to the keyboard and mouse before I will probably stick with it. I did see there was fang gamepad I think that would be the only thing that wouldn't be bad. Thanks
