I am considering buying this game as soon as I get my own VISA, looks like it's something between Day Of Defeat and Battlefield 2, which I was hoping. Vehicles like in BF2 and gameplay as in DoD, is this the case?

Anyone who've played it?

no.

it's superrealistic, nothing like BF2 and still a far cry from DOD:S.

It's fantastic though, I love it. Don't be excited about the vehicles, they're very realistic and hard to drive.

Yup, not worried about realism. The thing that failed for me in BF2 was the difficulty to kill enemies with snipers, even if you're aiming at the head on a standing enemy he most likely wont die. In DoD: Source they do, I just love the feeling in that game but I hate the small maps, no hiding places at all for snipers. In BF2 there are, but you have to be close to hit someone easily.

I'd love to try Red Orchestra before I buy it, even if it is'nt much money it's still a 3rd party game, so I have no idea about how the quality is in that game.

Depends on how far you are, if you're 150m+ you'll have to compensate for bullet drop, which means you'll need to aim a pixel or two higher. Personally I love the way BF2 sniper's are setup, unlike most games they don't feel overpowered at all. My only gripe is the game needs bigger draw distances :/

Back on topic, I don't think there is a demo for RO unfortunately. Well I guess you could try the Unreal Tournament version but I'm not sure how similar the two are.

And if you can cope with unnecessarily long load times. >.>

Maybe it's just my computer, but RO is extremely ****ed for me... performance-wise, it runs like a dream... level-loading-wise, i've literally waited 15+ minutes for a level to load... only to get ingame and then get booted for high-ping/inactivity!
Yet, I had no problems whatsoever playing the UT version... it doesn't make any sense D:
