Red Orchestra

I got it, it's okay so far.

There's a few annoyances.

- You can flip some vehicles over very easily, and there's no way to flip them upright... And when you get out of a flipped vehicle, you take about 50% health damage!

- There's a few rendering issues (sniper scope doesn't update itself while relading is one, and also sometimes when you do the camera jumps to your spawn point, and then back to where you died)

- Movement is really bouncy and jittery, even over the smallest of bumps... This should be smoothed out.

- No clear view of how to get to your objectives, or who is on which team (you need to memorize uniform and vehicle colors)

Overall, it's a decent game, for sure worth 25 bucks :)

Drive like you would IRL ;)

Think in real world terms :)

I love this game :D

Stupid question, is this the Source engine its running on?

Damn it, I've lost that $2.495 dollars :(

EDIT: Uriel, it's on the Unreal 2.5 Engine.

No, Unreal 2.5 actually. It started as a ut2k3/2k4 mod, thats how I got into it. You dont need a demo trust me, this game owns.

Aye tis very good. Not much fun when everybody is running around, not using teamwork though, and I dont know anybody else who has it. Could do with a squad system like BF2 as well, but overall, well worth what I paid for it.

It seems cool, but there are now like bagillion games like this.. I need lots of special reasons to encourage me to keep buying or else it just doesnt cut it. I'll play the demo when it comes out and leave it at that me thinks.

i want this game but the retail version of this game is not yet available :(
the Futureshop website says March 22 but still...

I WANT IT NOW :|

I try, but usually when I let off the gas, it slows down way too fast... Maybe I just need to practice, but so far it's just meh.

I'm trying, but there is no real indication on which team you are on (I've had troubles with the menu system), so I always need to hit F1 to check to see which team I'm on...

Check your uniform (you can see the sleeve next to your gun)

Germans = Grey or greenish
Russians = Brown or white

You'll learn fast.

so, is this worth buying ? i have dod:s [and love it] and i remember trying an early version of ro a long time ago and it was kind of bad (i know, bad to base an opinion off something that long ago).

is it a 'realistic' shooter or semi-realistic like dod:s.

heck, someone compare it to dod for me. :P

Its uberrealistic. You get real-world physics stuff, like bullet drop, shells ricocheting (sp?) off tank armour, etc. If you try running around in the open you will die. I haven't played DoD, but if you like frantic run-and-gun sort of stuff, then this probably isnt for you.

Still, you never know. Wait for the demo.

DODS=much prettier, more intimate, more action, more polished, faster, (imo) less balanced
ROO=more realistic, much much bigger, tank combat is fantastic, infantry combat can feel extremely frustrating but weapons are more balanced (for example, the mg in DODS is godlike compared to the mg in ROO).

I'm not sure what my verdict of ROO will be. Tank combat is very fulfilling, but infantry combat hasn't sucked me in yet. A lot of the realism things are highly amusing (like not knowing exactly how many bullets you have in a mag) but some are a tad frustrating, such as not having that tiny bit of zoom in iron sights that you get in other games.

Ofcourse, I think ROO is worth it already due to its dirt-cheapness, but I guess someone with a slightly tighter economy would value their 25 dollars higher.

.bog.

aight, i'll try out a demo when one is released, i like realistic games but i don't think i'll be a fan of vehicle-fighting, thanks.
