thanks

You can install it anywhere you want and as many times as you want and validate it and play, AS LONG as you only play on one machine at a time.

Oh, and as far as I remember, you can't save your information on a computer if you want to play on another one with the same account though I'm not sure.

so what ur sayin is that i need to uninstall it on his desktop befiore i install it on his laptop? or are u sayin i just kant play them on two machines at the both time? thanks

You need the files on your laptop, so you'd need to install your DVD(if you bought retail) onto the laptop, then open steam, online or offline and log into the account you registered it to. If you downloaded the files from steam, you will need to download them again on your laptop :D You dont need to uninstall it from the desktop, but you cant play the game on both machines at the same time, using just your account, you need two accounts for that.

I said it might be a good idea to log out on your regular machine before trying to use your account on another machine.

And your account can only be active on one end at any given time.
