Release before or After Doom 3

Someone help me, do you think Half-Life 2 will be out before Doom 3 or after Doom 3, :thumbs:

I think Half-Life 2 should be out before Doom 3, because Doom3 has been in the making way after Half-Life 2

Half-Life 2 will be at least a month after Doom 3, factor in the inevitable unforseen Valve delays and it will be about 3 months after Doom 3

Though the Doom 3 release date fiasco has yet to be concluded, one thing is clear, iD software or Activision HAVE NOT told Gamestop or EB games to change their dates.

As far as i'm concerned August 3rd it is.

I feel that Half Life 2 will be released after Doom 3. I really don't think they are worried about Doom 3 that much because everyone knows that both of the games are going to be great and people are going to buy both anyways. Aside from that, Half Life 2 has nothing to worry about because of it's great multiplayer and mods such as CS:S and DoD:S that will be released along with HL2... I think

we gotta admit that doom 3 surpasses half life 2 when it comes to graphics. and scaryness.

but half-life 2 has its features: realistic physics, very good graphics, good story(as far), decent score(music wise), innovative design, I haven't seen true A.I. for doom 3 but hl2 seems to have its share of smart bots. pointing at you and shooting at you, and cleverly hunting you down.

To me it doesn't matter what order it comes out. All i know is i'm going to buy hl2 before i download doom 3.

They will both turn out to be great games, and most fans who can afford it will end up buying and enjoying both. and As it is said that d3 will ship in early august and hl2 will only be going gold then i'd say we'll be dusting off our BFGs before we wash the xen goo from our crowbars.

urmmm, D3 is coming out early August...3rd or somehting, HL2 would do better if it came out...after maybe? Some people wouldn't be able to afford both though maybe... then saying that hard core gamers will somehow be able to. Then if HL2 came out second it could swamp any hype for D3 and thus replace itself in the mind of mainstream gamers as the one to have.

So i'm wondering how long it can take before it's ready to distribute. It could be that Valve has a suprise up it's sleeve,
and makes it an early release for the community.

Doesnt MAtter to me... If Doom3 is out first ill play that til HL2 is out, if it is out after HL2 ill play HL2 first and then 2 years later i might get Doom3...

It's in Dutch. But they say that in an interview with Computer & Videogames, Gabe said the master disc was given to Vivendi not long ago, and they are busy duplicating it.
