Release date speculation!

Ive spoken to my friend who works for GAME (here in sunny scotland!!)and i asked him when HL2 was going to be released in august. He said that it was september 30th. Following the bad news he confirmed that it wasn't being released untill about december (i must stress this was assumtion).
So with this info i took my new found curiosity (at this point i didn't realise the info had been stolen from valve untill i read an article in PC gamer) to another GAME store across town, the very helpfull girl behind the desk gave me the story that it was being held back for some reason but expected it by christmas or therabouts.
This lead me to thinking who else thought this, my search took me too most of the big electrical outlet stores in Aberdeen who all hinted at a winter release date, wether this was just hope from staff who all wanted this game also i am unsure but i did see apattern formiing so hopefully there may be truth in all the tales!:bounce:

because if ur getting all excited or hopeful (too hopeful) then i suggest u go read the things pointed out in that thread again... theres some very valid points made in it.. and while i may sound pessmistic about a December release, i do hope they can pull it off..

but i've taken release dates and things devs say not too seriously.. and thats my advice to u, free of charge

maybe we should just riot and bust in valve and kick all their scrawny little asses for making us all mad for delaying the game and keeping all their fan base in the dark about everything this game has ever done. i really hate valve, but i really love hl2 and want it so bad. im stuck.

In HL1 you used teleports to go immediately from on place to another.
In HL2 you'll be able to use time travel devices, you enter in at April 2004 and you come back immediately at September 30th, 2003...
