Release dates are on Tuesdays

I don't know if it is rule of thumb or if it's declared by law, but all release dates for DVDs (movies) are on Tuesdays - check out Blockbuster, or any movie coming out that the retailers do ads on - always Tuesdays.
I didn't think this applied to games - but weird - check it out - both Halo 2 and DOOM 3 have release dates, November 9th and August 3rd respectively. Both are on a Tuesday.
I use this logic to conclude that HL2 will be released on a Tuesday. I see threads about it coming out on Sept. 1st, August that.... I don't know when, but I bet it will be on a Tuesday!

England release dates are always on a Thursday or Friday for games. Which is why I'm getting it from Steam

I think I'll get it from Steam as well (no matter what day it comes out), and when the price of the game goes down (over time), I'll buy a hard copy too. :naughty:

I have no idea what the system is over here in Finland (to me it seems like there is none ) but currently I have no ways to pay over the internet ;( I will have to face the horrors of getting the game a few days after :{

Here in Belgium, movies and such always come out on wednesdays, but games...that's a different thing. Depends on the shop to

but since HL2 is going to have a world wide release itll be on a friday.

Since thats europes date.

makes no sence to sell it on a tuesday, every1 is working, towns are busy, kids are at school etc..
