I have played almost all the way through Ep1 now, and I've gotten to the bit where you have to escort civilians to safety at the train station.

My question is: how many bloody times do I have to go back and forth escorting civvies? I've done it 5 times now and they're still asking for more, it's dull and driving me up the wall.

The game was going so well until it went all lame on me like that.

I agree, that part really felt dull.

5 times? I think you need to escort one more group and you're done. Good luck.

I entirely agree, but the Yes men will tell you that you're mad too :P

On the bright side, everything after it is absolutely freaking amazing.

PS. the last run is the one with Barney.

edit: ah good, Loke is on my side :)

The citizens sometimes helped pick off those last combine
and they were cannon fodder for them so i lost less HP

When the stress grows too large, note that you have a rocket launcher and there's an ammo box for it. Helped me through the last two escorts.

Aye, it was only brightened by the fact you could use the RL for the most part. I still hate this type of mission for any game.

I disagree, it was fun. Not brilliant, but fun.

Sig is still too big, 911 :)

One of the worst part of the game. One tour was fun, rest was boring, and too easy. There should be one big battle for rescuing people, where i could feel that i really rescue someone, not two opponents at every point on route.

felt too much like everyother game, expected more from valve especialy near that part of the game. would have been a huge anti climax had the train ride never happened. (plus the strider "battle" wasnt great either). would have been better if there were 7ish citizens running with you at one time towards the station while being chased by combine, zombies and antlions. 4-way battle? good. walking between two points repeatedly? bad. Im sure episode 2 will make up for it, but that really left me wanting more.
