So I started replaying RE4, to find it's still an excellent game. Only when I mute cutscenes though. So anyway, I'm playing it on Gamecube and I've seen the PS2 version on shelves for a pretty good price and I'm wondering...would it be worth buying it just for Seperate ways?

Is SW itself any good? Can I expect the same fricken awful dialouge? But the truly brilliant action?

Speaketh, before I buyeth.

NO it's not worth it.
If you have a ps2 you should have bought it from the start for the ps2, now it's a money waster. Go buy Psychonauts.

PS2 version looks crap compared to Gamecube tho...

Ill be getting it on pc, just hope they up the gfx or at least leave it on the Gamecube level.

Is it an entirely new adventure? New bosses?

It wasn't out for PS2 when I bought my Gamecube version.

You go through the same places Leon went through. And I think there was 2 or 3 bosses. There is one part that is pretty fun, you're assaulting this big frigate ship...but it's mostly a pain in the neck.

Nothing worth shelling out the cash for though.

adds about 5 or 6 hours on first time through and ties up well with the main story, its well produced new cutscenes/dialogue etc and lets you see what Ada was up to while you were blasting Ganados, it also shows you some extra storyline elements and other things like who rang the church bell in the village at the start of the game. It was fun i thought and harder than the normal game, Ada is faster but cant take as much damage as Leon, you get to fight Krauser again(pain in the arse tbh) and Saddler when Ada rescues Leon and Ashley towards the end(remember she shoots the barrels etc). Her weapons are sweet!

Interesting, thanks Jim
I thought the games story was pretty awful though.

When is the PC version due out? Ive been waiting pateintly :x

Yes! I want a PC version, and I have been waiting patiently as well. Would they ever port this game to PC do you think? I don't have high hopes, but it would be the best version if it was, because it would be like the game cube version - except it would have high definition and wide-screen resolution options. :D Plus I'd rather use a 360 gamepad on my PC.

I loved RE4, but I have to agree with Samon. Normally, story doesn't mean jack shit to me (I looooooove Far Cry), but in this case, some dialogue was so bad that I was tempted to just stop playing :x

yeah the dialgue is hella chessy at times, i was never really arsed too much about the story, just enjoyed the gameplay, i never played the others so Ada, Krauser etc didnt mean much to me.

"So I see you've escaped from my trap... Mister Kennedy." *deranged laughter for five full ****ing minutes*

But yeah, the game was awesome.

Well, I really enjoyed the original Resident evils. RE4 took the series in a meh direction storywise (scrapping Umbrella etc), but that isn't to say the RE series was perfect. The dialouge was never great, but RE4 really took the biscuit.

"Rain or shine, your going down!" That is...just...
"Psychic powers!...Nah, just kidding."

Mikami needs to go play with the traffic. (Krauser was new to the RE series anyway)

Leon's moaning is more annoying than anything though. :p

"MOOUUURRGGHH!"

Sigh.

There was this one bit of dialogue, where Salazar and Leon somehow end up discussing acting... or something like it. I barely remember it, but what I do remember is that it was so awkward, forced, and unnatural that I wanted to stick my c*ck in a blender afterwards to distract myself from the pain :|

Hehe. Saddlers taking over the world comments are worse though.

I managed to chuckle a bit at the whole

"Your right hand comes off?" bit. :P

At least the voice acting was decent this time. All the other games had horrible voice actors.

I can only hope RE5 has withstandable dialogue.

The one cutscene that I enjoyed was when I got to stick Salazar's hand through with a combat knife. That made up for all the bad times :D
