No matter what happens, no matter how much it costs, I'm still gonna buy it. But as there are now 3 different packs for HL2, I'm just wondering what the prices are going to be like compared to any other game.

Will the SP only one be cheaper than usual, with the middle one being around the average price ($50/£30-£40) and the collectors edition obviously being more expensive?

or...

Will the SP only one be the same price as a usual game ($50/£30-£40), then we have to pay more for the middle and even more for the collectors edition?

If this has already been answered, just gimmie a straight answer and when I've had a cigarette I'll come back and delete it, then die at my stupidity on everyone's behalf.

Unless it comes straight from the source, in other words, a Valve employee, we'll have no clue. But I'm with you on willing to pay anything for this game. When I was showing some of the Bink videos to a friend of mine the other day, he asked me how much it would cost to play it. That is just how impressive and revolutionary of a game this is. It denotes a higher asking price because of whats gone into creating it.
 
the normal version (SP and MP) will be normal priced (around $49.99 US), the Singleplayer version will be $20 cheaper, and the Special Edition will be more expensive than the normal version (probably another $10 or $15)
 
I'm thinking:

SP | £25 - £30
SP+MP | £35 - £40
Special Ed. | £45

I'm sorry, where'd you hear this? For all we know, the "normal" version could be around $59.99.

Until someone gives us proof, no one will know for sure, as I already stated above. You are probably correct, for I cannot see Valve asking for more than the normal retail price of a game ($50), but nevertheless, we have no definitive on the matter.
 
I really don't mind, but I'm guessing the best move for Valve would be to have the SP+MP version at the normal price, SP only cheaper and the CollectorsEdition at a bigger price. I'll probably get the CE if it's released along with the other editions anyway.

And yes Treddieplopperous, I've been smoking since I was 12 :(

You should try it sometime. Takes the edge off. You know, with FSAA and all that.
 
considering how many people have already pre-ordered the regular game for $50-ish, I think we pretty much know how much the "normal" version will cost. It's fairly simple to interpolate from there.
 
Apparently I cheat on all my girlfriends and I'm a cocaine addict too. Apparently. Oh and I slept with some woman on her hen night. And I'm gay.

I don't really have any enemies but for some reason there's a few people that think those bad things of me. **** knows where it all came from! I think it's quite funny.

EDIT: Thought I'd clarify to make sure I didn't cause offense. I didn't mean being gay was bad. It's bad for me, because I'm straight and spoils my brilliant *cough*rightyeahloads*cough* (I gotta quit that shit) reputation with the layyydees.

k actually took the time to read this stuff now, im only buying the collectors edition if theres something really special about it, not just some queer making of videom or a barney figurine, and on a related note YOU SMOKE!??! HOPE YOU DIE OF LUNG CANCER BIZNITCH!!! DIEEEE!!!!! but i still love you!! WOOOOT!!!

My great grandmother lived until she was 90, smoking 60 cigarettes a day and drinking 2 bottles of sherry (full size) to herself every day for about 50 years.

My grandmother never smoked a day in her life and died of lung cancer. All people aren't built the same.
 
That's why I only smoke 5-10 cigarettes a day, and probably the equivalent of a bottle of sherry (in other forms of alcohol) a week.

However, statistically speaking you're far more likely to die of lung cancer if you DO smoke and the likelyhood increases with length of time and number of cigarettes you smoke.

Well duh. Its not like the point I was trying to make insinuated that cancer is an airborne disease. I was only pointing out that its not a good determinate to use kin as examples to justify smoking and not having any worries about getting it at a younger age. My other grandmother smoked a crap load, since she was like seven years old up until 60. Doesn't mean I can't go smoke a bowl through my middle years and come away scot free.
 
I can't justify or condone smoking at all.
 
im sure HL2 will make you quit smoking chris, it will be even more addictive then cigs =)
