RF Online Beta Public

<3 Mechs, but I don't think that comes close to the Armored Core series. Needs to be more customisable from what I read.
 
Well I'm a sucker for free games, so let's hit it. :)
 
This is definitely worth it infact I compare it to wow.
 
This game's monthly fee costs £8.99/€14.99 which is roughly close to 18 dollars in US currency.

I have to say it's too ****ing expansive for a MMORPG.
 
Wow, that's ridiculous cost for what will probably be crazy grind-fest :|
 
Nothing to be excited about.
Besides having different models, the races and their classes all play and feel the same.Ya,it's another one of those Korean build mmo's that see you popin out out of nowhere every couple of months.And they're all using the same shite game engine for these games.Grainy and blocky!Different settings but they're all the same crap in the end.Nothing more then your regular but overhyped "grind fest" mmorpg.

Wow, worst mmo I have ever tried, and I do mean ever.
It is similar to wow, which I hated, but it is even worse. Especially the general design (gui and character creation) is attrocious. Add to this very limited information in the beginning (at the stage I actually need the information) and the most painful tutorial I have ever tried to endure, and we have a game as attractive to me as having colon cleansing performed with a firehose. With concentrated sulphuric acid instead of water.

Further more, let's not forget the horrible character design which is straight cut anime with very limited customization possibility. If you want a not female character that does not look like a fairy (nothing wrong with fairies or females, but they are just not my prime pick for how I like to present myself in an online world) you must play the mechanoid race.

Some aspects of the game will be fixed (hopefully) for the release (such as the text being 1% garbage) and possibly the skybox showing through your character's hairline, but all in all I see no hope for this mmo. I mean, people might like it, heck, they like wow, but I sure as hell wont give this mmo another chance.

In a crazy world eve is still the best mmo out there. Hopefully there will be something better in the not too distant future. Huxley certainly is ambitious, but if they ever actually pull it off and make it fun I don't think the year will be 2006.

I was sucked into EVE (admittedly it was not in beta-stage at that point) by the overall quality and attention to detail. The character customization alone is enough to set EVE over other mmos I have tried. Nobody should ever consider making an mmo without looking to eve and try to do better/equally good in all the little things EVE get right. I'm not saying EVE is perfect (sucking rocks certainly gets old after a while (not my main profession, though)), but they have a general quality and attention to detail no other mmo can provide at this point.

How do you sign-in to this game? I signed up for the codemasters COG account and activated it by email, but the game won't accept my username/password.

You have to register your Beta key...
 
If anyone wants to party with me, I'm a lvl 17 Accertia on the Earth server.
 
You have to make your account at the rf online website....unfortunatly you wont beable to play today because the login server is down all day and wont be back up till tomorrow.
 
I went to the site but couldn't find where I could make my account. Can you point out which link I should click on at that site?

Although I'm not sure if the login server will be completely down for the entire day, since I was able to login a couple of times yesterday night after they made the annoucement.
 
It keep says analyzing the login name or whatever then the program just exists to window.

I guess because of the login server problem?

Stress test effectively crashed the servers. They say Monday, maaaybe.

WoW is a little more expensive.
 
W00t login server seems to up now, hopefully it won't go down again.
 
Funny. I still can't log in. It says the server is waiting for message then it just exits to window...
