ok everytime im playing the game either freezes or my monitor like shuts off and the button turns from green to like an amber color....i have tried cat 5.2,5.1's and omega driers...and i uninstalled correctly using driver cleaner?? can someone please help me out i have no idea why its shutting off....i dont think it could be the psu becuase halflife 2 and other games run flawlessly

system instability - maybe its pushing your PSU too much (yes the POWER SUPPLY - way too often overseen) or some other hardware effect. Alternatively it could be a game error that they have yet to fix....

theres such a wide variety of possibilities

It could also be that your system is overheating. Check the temperature's while playing just to make sure.

My PSU is only 350... works fine with me, look at my specs. Though I do plan to upgrade my PSU to around 450 sometime soon.

I used to get alot of instability errors from my old 400w PSU that i eventually identified - I had some cold cathode lights, and they dimmed strongly when the computer went under pressure LOLOL :D so i got some 550w psu or something to avoid that problem from happening ever again.

try turning down all settings to low, low textures, low details etc.
with the monitor, it sounds like its losing the connection. check the port at the back that its secure. im assuming your computer is still on, so how do you get the picture back?

well i have to reboot.... and well im getting a new case and psu to replace my 250 watt psu...im also getting a new motehrboard and some corsair xms memory... hopefully that will help this instability

It's only 250 Watt? Wow, you need a new PSU for what you have.

He is getting a new case which will have a 400 watt PSU. So everything should then run a lot better. He will be using faster ram with a new heatsink. Plus, he is going to overclock. I would also suggest instability because of the PSU.

I had no idea his PSU was only 250 Watt, that's definitely the problem.

heh thanks for all the help, it just baffled me seeing how i never got any crashes with halflife 2, doom 3, or thief 3....i guess when i get my new stuff it will be better

Yea i had exactly the same prob, i find it hard to explain too. I mean, half the possible things i blamed were outcasted due to the fact that it happened on a limited amount of applications
