I just invested in a new linksys modem/router doohicky (WAG354G). I have done all the port forwarding shennanigans that I was told to do on the steam support page, but I still can't seem to find any servers, and the last steam update was painfully slow. I know the steam support page talks about 2 linksys routers that require a firmware update to work, but mine is not one of those 2 models. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?

not use linksys, Its horibly slow... i think... Im not sure... Im always picking up a linksys acsess point on my PC and PSP I have my own... if thats what your connecting to they yes it is very slow. im curntly having related problems... make sure that your drivers work... you might have to experiment with differnt drivers for your wi-fi card ( thats what your using right? ) when i first got some valve/steam online games it worked just fine... almost perfect... then when i got a new mother board i had to re-install XP and updated my wi-fi cards' driver and then the valve/steam online games didnt work any more, i couldnt find any servers ( my curnent problem.) so i rolled them back to the preivious driver and it work.... just thought I'd share my little story..

Well so far I haven't had any problems with the gateway connection wise. The internet works fine as do programs like azureus and soulseek. I had no problem setting up the port forwarding for them, it's just steam that doesn't seem to work. I can connect to it alright, but I can't find any servers that have a ping under about 1000.

It is a wireless card I'm using and I have tried messing with the drivers to no avail.
