Hammer is the mapping software for HL2 but it can only currently be used to make maps for CSS. Once the full SDK comes out it will enable you to make maps for HL2.

Can't wait to see the mods. I am definately going to join a mod team or create my own mod.

I like the Hammer mapping software, seems really good so far :cheers:

The main event in the full SDK is the source code samples which let you change the game's core behaviour. It also incudes Faceposer to make the funny faces thread even better and another tool I forget the name of.
