I heard about this project a few times, but today when I stumbled upon an article on a local portal I decided to check it out. Haven't downloaded or anything yet, but it seems it's an extended version of the Sims and it's online. The Sims quickly bored me, but this seems like quite an interesting project.

Anyone can tell me more about this?

EDIT: Actually, that should probably go to general games, sorry.

Heard something about this as well, and by heard I mean I saw a video of this with 4chan characters in.

It's ghey.

Trust me.

Supremely ghey.

I'm not a furry nor do I like anime, so no, I don't play Second Life

It's a bit like the iPod - it sucks compared to the competition, but it's still extremely popular.

I played it with a friend of mine, got swamped by furries with gatling guns after offending them and their "life styles" and then proceeded to laugh my arse off at them and uninstalled the game. Its an absolute joke that some people use this game as a means of primary income. I kid you not, I spoke to one guy who makes and sells furry sex toys in-game for actual money.

I am now pro-abortions.

I saw someone on the newses who had (not so) real estate in Second Life worth 10,000s of dollars. **** it, I'd go furry for that.

I have this but rarely use it. It's just a more popular and 3d rendered version of habbo hotel. I wouldn't dare spend any real world money on virtual currency or property. That's a line i'll never cross.

Considered it out of curiosity, but then after seeing a lot of the miscreants it attracted, I decided against it.

I think the only reason I'd take part in it at this point is to be a jackass to everybody.

I downloaded and played it for two hours. It's a horrible game.

It shows potential, if you remade it and bant all the social retards from it.

Then you might get some sort of functioning economy. But quite frankly I think you'd be better off making an actual MMO with an economy, a la Everquest. Second Life is too complex for newbies to code and too expensive for newbies to play, and in anycase it's not actually any fun.

I'd rather they invent a device to stab people in the face over the internet.
