Please to be discussing the secret/hard-to-get-to areas of the game and how to access said places. Usually I'm one to discover these things myself, but some of them have me stumped, and I'm trying to find all of the power to the people machines. I'm currently 3 whole upgrades away from having all my weapons modded out, and I thought I did a pretty thorough job of exploring :x

The two major ones I still have greyed out on my map are -

In Fort Frolic, in the mall area past the frozen passage, there seems to be a downstairs area, but the stairs are shut off by a metal grate. I'm guessing there's a switch somewhere or something, but I've no ballsing idea where.

In, uhh... the place later on in the game with all the people's apartments - there's a room in Sander Cohen's apartment which I can't access. On the map it shows stairs in there going to another room, which I'm guessing will have some goodies. The room is to the right when you first enter, but the door doesn't want to budge. Again, I can't see a switch or anything, and I've given the place a right good dusting.

Any help appreciated. Likewise, if you're stuck anywhere, I or someone else might be able to advise you. The hidden places are really what makes this game fun to explore :)

Is this the shop with the statues lining the entranceway and a splicer on a table? If it is, the switich the stairs is behind the counter.

the stairway that was inaccessible due to the metal grating covering it that Bad Hat mentioned became enterable after i was in this shop you mentioned, but i thought the switch opened the secret passageway into that shop's basement where you get the weapon add-ons only, the first time those statues attack you was down in that basement for me, the one sitting in the corner, that was freaky.

after i had left this shop i saw the metal grating was gone and i could go down the stairs so i guess it becomes accessible after you go into this shop and hit the switch.

Cheers, noted.

Also, I picked up from another thread that Sander himself lets you into his apartment if you leave him alive after the Fort Frolic event. Choices indeed :P

Ah, the ''more items downstairs area'' ? I never went there on my first play through, and today I stumbled across a while after I went into the creepy basement, so I had no idea that it had once had a metal grate over it. Both rooms were pretty freaky. Pretty as in very. :D

yeah that one, when looking at the ''more items downstairs area'' i had a wry smile on my face, i knew the game would throw something at me, the thing is i went back into that room earlier today while playing to pick up the prox nades i had no room for 1st time, when i turned around to head back i noticed another white statue enemy near the entrance in a pose.

i killed him but that room is really unsettling as those white houdini splicers seem to spawn there continually, when i turn around i always see 1 or more in a pose, reminds me of Condemned in the mall with the mannequins who started surrounding you :O
