Welcome to the first Halflife2.net Secret Santa! In this thread you will be able to sign up to participate. Sign up's close on Friday 11th.

Please do not post if you are not taking part.

This is only for veteran and trusted members of HL2.net, everyone who posted in the previous thread is able to join. Anyone who isn't sure, can post and I'll contact you if we're unsure.

Details you must provide in this thread:

1. By posting you are agreeing to take part in the secret santa, meaning you must buy a gift for the name you are given, you will also receive a gift from a different anonymous member
2. You must provide 2 or 3 game genres you enjoy so your SS can buy something you're likely to enjoy - see left side of Steam store
3. You must provide your current Steam game list (using
tags please) or link us to your Steam community profile (ensure it is PUBLIC) so we can see your game list.
Buying your gift

1. Select your game from the Steam store ($10 minimum) - games in Steam sales are fine. Add to your basket
2. Go to check-out and choose to buy the game as a gift
3. Choose to send the game gift via email (NOT TO A FRIEND)
4. Enter your own email.
5. When you receive the game gift via email, edit the email to remove personal details, do not remove the 'activation link'.
6. Forward this email to me with your username as the title (I will remove this later). I'll send you my email once all participants are finalised.

Thanks to Valve Software for providing us the details on this process. You will not need to do this until the 11th when you receive your forum gift receiver.

Final note

If you decide to enter, please please please follow through with your commitment to purchase a game for someone. If you disappear you'll be leaving someone without a gift and there will be a gift specifically bought just for you which I cannot give to you if you haven't bought one for someone else. Therefore, I am trusting the long-time members to be good sports and not ruin your fellow forumites from having a good time. Anyone who doesn't purchase a gift after entering will have their name released to the forum with several other nasty consequences.

Thank ya'll!

Here's my games list: http://steamcommunity.com/id/dekstar/games
I have CoD4, Heroes 3, Evil Genius, Deus Ex, Mass effect, Morrowind and Oblivion not on Steam, just in case someone thought of buying me it.

I like:
First Person Shooters with good Single-players. Not too interested in Multiplayer at all.
RPG's
Indie
Action
Racing games are ok, but only if I can use a non-360-pad USB joypad with them. Trackmania supports it, and I had a lot of fun with the free one and my pad.

I'm running on a laptop but it plays Dragon Age perfectly on highest graphics so I don't think you have to limit your buying for me.
Specs:
Core 2 Duo @ 2.4Ghz
4gb of RAM
Radeon Mobility 4537 (or something, 4500 range anyway)

I'm in Glenda.

I guess I mainly play FPShooters judging by my games list!

http://steamcommunity.com/id/gdub/games

Glenn could we suggest a few games on Steam we might be interested in, instead of genres?

EDIT: I also have Mirror's Edge and Spore on another digital platform.

Count me in too guys :)

http://steamcommunity.com/id/wanted_bob/games

In addition to these, I also own (some on PC, others on 360):

STALKER - Shadow of Chernobyl
Crysis and Crysis Warhead
Company of Heroes
Supreme Commander
Crazy Machines
Oblivion
The Witcher
Hitman Blood Money
SPORE
Modern Warfare 2
GTA 4
Peggle
Jedi Knight 2 - Outcast
Assassins Creed
Mirrors Edge
KOTOR 1 and 2
Republic Commando
Rome: Total War
UT3

As for games I like, I mostly play FPSs and RPGs (mostly offline due to crappy residence network, and definately not MMO). RTS games can be fun too, as well as Space sims. Doesnt mean I'm not open to any surprises though :)

EDIT: G-Dub, dont you think that takes the surprise out of things?

Hi sexies,

Games List

And the following:
Bioshock
Splinter Cell
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Jedi Knight III: Jedi Academy
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II
One of the earlier CoD games - didn't find particularly great.

Usually interested in action and FPSs, but have been recently playing RPGs such as KOTOR and Mass Effect. Enjoy Sci-Fi, Star Wars in general. Unfortunately, I don't have as much time anymore, so have been playing quite a few casual and indie games.

Merry Christmas

Sign me up please!

I like mainly FPS/Action and RPG, but also some adventure and strategy. I enjoy Sci-Fi themed games a lot too.

My game list: http://steamcommunity.com/id/staticprimer/games

Also, some noteworthy games not listed there are:

My games list available here.

I'm defo up for this.

I'm into First Person Shooters, Adventure Games (though not as much point and click), Platformers, Interesting Indie Games, Action RPGs (not turn based ones or click and attack) and any Action game of sort. I also love a good and engaging storyline

My Steam Game List: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Mellish/games

Games that I don't own on steam
Oblivion and Morrowind
Mass Effect
Fallout 3
Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2
Assassin's Creed
Far Cry 2
Castle Wolfenstein and Hitman 3 (a bit random, but just in case)
Deus Ex
Prototype
All Grand Theft Autos

My specs are pretty shit so do not buy such a recent game (most of those games I own are for consoles). To give you a fair representation, I had to play bioshock on pretty much low for everything, medium for a few things.

PS. Don't buy the expansion pack for STALKER, I didn't like the original.

My PC will run nigh on everything. Built to last this beauty.

My favourite genres are either action/shooters or puzzle games. But puzzle games more like World of Goo than Bubble Bobble or whatever. I also love adventure games. I'll be happy with most everything to be honest.

As Druckles says, I don't really have time for many big games at the moment (says he who just bought Dragon Age and Borderlands) but smaller games really catch my fancy at the moment.

I like sci-fi FPS. Or any game that's really clever in some way. Two indie games I really want to have are Osmos and Eufloria. By far the best bets to make me happy. If you want to spend more, I'm certain to enjoy Crysis.

Hello, my name is SHAMROCKOSAURUS or Derek or Shamrock or God. Anyway, I love FPS games. I love FPSRPG types of games. I do love certain Indie games as long as they are incredibly fun and entertaining and not some simple stupid flash game. I'm not big on adventure games, but Oblivion was one I adored, and the only MMO I've ever truly loved was Guild Wars.

Anyway, my 3 categories are!

FPS
Indie
Action

Modern Warfare 2 is a really good game, too. ;) Anyway, I don't care what you get me personally. I just want it to be a surprise, and if it's an expensive game or some random game, I'll love it equally. :)

Here is my list of games:

Shamrock's periodic table of elements

Games I own:
gamelist.jpg

Things I like:

I like a lot of stuff. I like indie games, FPS, RPG, side scrollers, things with interetsing art direction or setting, and on and on and on. So that's why my next list is important.

Games I'm not interested in:

A Call of Duty (excluding the original)
Fighters
RTS

And, if you can't think of anything, and you're really really desperate (or really really lame):
Specific games I'd like:

Whatever Stalker game is most highly regarded or most mandatory for a game list
Braid
Machinarium
Zeno Clash
GTA (not the newest one)
Assassin's Creed
Vampire the Bloodlines: Masquerade
Call of Duty 1
Trine
Just Cause

You're not considered a HL2.net veteran and are untrustworthy in my opinion.

But hey...I added you anyway ;)

OK we've had some people drop out and some people join in, so we're still rocking 29 people (that's awesome guys, rele rele).

Friday 11th will be LOCKDOWN, if you're signed up then...you must participate as I stated right at the start! I appreciate the early notice people have given due to financial problems...as dropping out later on really screws over other members and makes this a real bastard to organise.

List in post above has been updated.

Possible choices:

The Dig, Ricochet Infinity for £4.99
Deus Ex, Braid or Borderlands DLC for $9.99
Zeno Clash for $14.99
Company of Heroes for $19.99

I don't care which game.

haha, damnit...i was JUST about to sign up. what ever happened to the classic 11:59:59 lock!? :)
