Seperate Ways (RE4)

I finally beat Resident Evil 4 and what a fantastic game! I love the ending.

I am now playing the "Seperate Ways" missions, and for some reason, even though you start with better guns, alot of ammo, it is harder than the main game. WTF?

You start as Ada with:
- Pistol (Slightly Upgraded) - 50 Bullets (Plus full 21 in clip)
- Shotgun (Slightly Upgraded) - 15 Shells (Plus 12 in gun)

You start as Leon with:
- Pistol (Not Upgraded) - 30 bullets (or something like that) (Plus 15 in clip)
- Slightly Stronger Knife Than Ada

With Leon I had tons of bullets by the time I got to the church (Starting in the first village), with Ada I had no bullets, I had to kill them all with my knife till I found ammo, and when I found ammo it wasn't alot. The ammo is placed in the exact same places as if you were playing as Leon. Shells, Herbs, Bullets, ect. all in the same places regardless of who you play as.

My question is: With stronger guns, more ammo, more guns, why is Ada harder to play than Leon?

I think there's more enemies in Ada's segment, not to mention Leon also picks up the shotgun in town anyway. I think you're also missing out on nades, I don't remember who had how many but I think both can pick up a few during the initial sequence. Oh and I'm not sure if they wanted you to slaughter everyone with Ada's segment, she's designed to be more finesse type character. I killed most of them by shooting their legs then timing it so that her spinning kicked blew their heads off (literally).

Personally I thought the ending was disappointing, sappyness aside the final boss was so weak I should've just poked him with stick. The plot was... miserable at best and the final boss was just a big letdown to me.

Yea, the final boss wasn't hard (First Try Kill..). I finished the game with 1.46 seconds to spare! go me!

Krauser took me 3 tries. (I ended up killing him with a knife, go me!)

With Ada you get the shotgun right away, you start off with the freakin thing. It's a bit upgraded too... (stronger than the one Leon gets). I got one frag grenade so far. (Wasted it on like 6 guys, it was worth it). Also, with the kicks, that's what I always do, I shoot their face, then kick them, with both Leon And Ada.

"Separate Ways?" I'm guessing this is the PS2 version?

Yeah, it is. And as pathetically easy as the final boss is on Normal, try it on Professional. It's seriously one of the hardest boss fights of my life.


...hell, that whole game is just 10 times better on Pro.

I only have the GC version so take my ideas with a grain of salt. (All this is from the Assignment Ada bit.)

I think that Ada's stuff is much harder due to her inability to take a large amount of damage. Compared to Ada Leon is built like a tank. Which may be one of the primary things. As someone said before, Ada is much more about finesse, so make sure your getting headshots / kneeshots and doing the amazingly super close combat stuff and you should be fine......

Huge fan of the series, beat the game on cube on release on hard (w00t again) .. havn't really played through the extra missions yet, however the mercenarys mode is extremely fun.

I just beat the game.
And all I can say is, why isn't there a chainsaw as a weapon, damm. If there is one game in the whole world who is suited for some chainsaw action it's this game.

Meh, the only thing that gave me trouble was hard mode. I need to go to blockbuster and switch my disc ......damn stoners spilt something on my copy,just one or two little specks that I cant get off ruined the whole disk, twas my bdaypresent ......God I wish we still used cartridges.....................................
