Hello,

I'm not sure of the best place to post this so I apologise if this isn't the appropriate forum section. we've recently established the website http://www.highertier.co.uk/

This website is dedicated to the setup, installation and configuration of source servers, designed for dedicated setups and client setups. Hopefully this well help support server operators in the Half Life community, and we intend to keep the website well supported. Although there's generally a fairly wealthy amount of information on the internet about setting up a source server, I find it's very difficult to find it all in one place, normally it's something about installing the server on one website, something about sorting out the server.cfg on another, etc etc, ideally this site should server as a compilation of everything related to configuring a source server, so there is only one website resource necessary to use.

I am still looking to expand on it in every way, if anyone has any suggestions to improve the quality of information, it'd be appreciated if you let me know by either emailing me, or pming me, or even posting here.

Cheers,

Matt.

(ps. love the new hl2.net site design)

Very cool site, this isn't really advertising because it's a resource so no one make a stink about that please

No, I certainly don't intend this to be an advertisement, it's really just a way for us to give back to the community, as well as support some excellent games.

There are way too many servers running CSS and hl2dm etc that clearly don't have the first idea how to, in an ever increasing competitive atmosphere, it's important that servers perform as well as possible to keep the server enjoyable for those connecting to it.

I think the main problem for this is there is simply a lack of information when it comes to it, which is why www.highertier.co.uk is designed to be an algamation of as much information to do with setting up a server as possible.
