Shacknews had an interview with Valve's Robin Walker during Valve's party in downtown San Francisco last night. Mr.Walker talks about the new weapons pros and cons, new maps and a moving fortress?

Shack: Are you planning another map with Payload gameplay, or will Goldrush be unique for now?[br]

Robin Walker: We already have some plans for what we want to try next. We really want to try out a map where you're escorting a cart, and the cart's big enough that engineers are actually building on it, so you have a moving fortress. So we're going to try that out probably next.

Sounds awesome!, You can read the full interview here.

Awesome. It'd be good to build a sentry and dispenser in the cart and slaughter everyone.

WTB new Pyro weapons.

Perhaps some kind of incendiary fluid which will keep burning after you apply it to paths, allowing you to block off paths.

*imagines Badlands full of flame*

Er.

No.

I haven't played the 1st goldrush map and i cant wait for the 2nd even more! MOBILE SENTRYS FTW!!!

Heh, their ideas for another map with Payload gameplay were revealed way before this! There was an interview a few weeks back (not sure who, but it was on the front page) with a few of the guys and they were saying the same thing.

Either way, sounds awesome, I love the engineer.

Maybe b/c I'm in engineering...

I'm actually scared for these new additions.. the future of tf2 depends on how these weapons will play out in the game

Don't be, trust Valve

Yes, the Church of Valve has delivered glory unto the PC gaming devout, as always. Goldrush is as fun to play as it sounds on paper. The medic weapons are solid additions, with a huge amount of potential. Consider me fully re-hooked on the Team Fortress 2 Kool-Aid.

In short, this update will be a much-needed breath of fresh air for those growing tired of TF2's standard offerings. And rather than a dying gasp, it feels more like the beginning of a deep, satisfying inhalation of content.

I think they are taking some tips from TRS on team based gameplay. To get through this map, your group has to face on onslaught of enemies much similar to Left 4 Dead.
