I woke up this morning to find out my cable is out, tv, internet, its out. Its not just somthing wrong with the modem since the tv is out also, I called comcast and said the best they can do is send out a tech Tommorow (tues) at 2pm, I'v already taken off of work to play HL2 but now the internet won't work until midday at best. My question is will I be able to play it without unlocking it online? I am not a preloader, I am picking it up from EB. Thanks

...no seriously any version, steam or otherwise, you have to unlock online, through the registration process, that takes bout 5 mins online. this is a must, before even single player, or installing!

He would have to take his computer over there, activate via his friend's internet connection, then disconnect it and bring it home, and play offline. What a pain in the ASS! Sorry to hear about the issues tho.
