sigh, I need help....

Well this marks the first time I have asked for help in any HL game. I am at the beginning of the bug bait. The Vortagaunt tells me to through the bug bait in the pit to attract the ant lions. What bug bait? It says on my screen "Press Mouse1 to through bug bait". I try that and nothing happens because I don't have any bug bait. Where do I get the bug bait?

You should have gotten it off of the big ant lion you just killed... try cycling through your weapons... or just press 6...

How do I get the ant lion out? I haven't seen one.

after you make it past the big open sand area and go down the cliff there should be a big ant lion boss that pops out

You know how if you walk on the sand the antlions come out? Well near the end the ant lion guard big one comes out and you grab the bug bait from him from vortigan

OK, are y'all talking about the part right before I go into the cave area and follow the vortigaunt or when the vortigaunt takes me down the path and tells me to throw the thoramen(?) into the pit. I don't have any bug bait and no creatures up to this point have giving me any...

You're supposed to have picked it up off the dead ant lion guard, when the Vortiguant tells you to. In fact, I'm curious as to how you got where you are without picking it up, I think you need to otherwise the door doesn't open or something.

hmm...I wondered if it was a game error. It has happened to me before. For example, n the Dreamcast game Shenmue you work as a forllift driver. I worked as the driver for 20-30 in game days when I was only supposed to work for 3-5 in game days....LOL one of the character videos wouldn't load...

After I defeated the big antlion the vort did come out but his talking was choppy and I couldn't understand what he said(the only thing I thought I heard was: "You would do wise not to follow me"...which doesn't make since). I'll reload before fight and try again. Thanks for the help!
