can a Half life 2 mod be used for HL2: E1 some how?

On topic, mod's can be altered to incorporate Episode 1, however it's not as simple as just copy and pasting new maps into a folder or installing into Episode 1. The mod makers must work on their mods to make them compatable, which i believe some are doing / have done. Just keep an eye out for mod-team releases.
