Single Player Game

Ok I juts installed HL2 and want to play the GAME But this stupid Steam bull**** forces me into an online deathmatch game everytime. How do I get to the regular sigle player game. I mean everytime I select play half life it decrypts the steam games (Which takes forever by the way) and then starts a death match game. I don't want a deathmatch game I want to play the regular game...WTF

If you are launching it from the disk, then that's the problem; for some stupid reason it launches HL2DM from the disk instead of HL2.

There should be a desktop icon, just use that. You can also try going to (installpath)\steam\steamapps\(email)\half-life 2\hl2.exe

Ok Thanks but I am not launching from disk I am using the desktop Icon and Don't understand the second thing you said. Ther is no (email) folder in that path. It stops at

(installpath)\steam\steamapps\

and there is no hl2.exe file in that folder

Start > Search > All files and folders > search for hl2.exe <-- when you find it, make a shortcut and copy to your desktop.

I meant (email) as in your email address, that's how steam identifies your account.

If you used the normal install directory, the file I'm talking about would be at: c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\[email protected]\half-life 2\hl2.exe

Ok I got it now, for some reason the normal hl2.exe didn't install, but a reinstallment got it going. Thank you.

Oh yes and I knew what you meant by (email) folder I just didn't have a complete path is all.
