Ive noticed alot of things about this compared too what they had changed remeber in the E3 videos it showed a bunch of really cool things too grab our attention??? like those see threw tenticals that stabbed into the colimbine or what about that Badass A.I.?? it seems your allys get in your way and your enemys are on timers they would shoot for like 3 seconds then hide do the same thing over and over again i havent seen anything really that cool about this game besides the new textures anyone remeber tespasser? that old dinosaur game? that has all the same physics in it in HL2 you have a bunch of problems like Stuttering problems and audio problems can any of you honestly say you played the whole game threw error free? i really never did feel good about half life 2 being released this early i think they could of waited another 6 months oh yea i found somthing really annyoing with the airboats there like umperllea's shot one up with your phys gun and you will see what im talking about in myopinion i think painkiller used the Havok engine alot better then valve did

Wow, you really hid behind the door when they handed out punctuation, didn't you?

A few things from the E3 videos were cut. HL2 was full of cool stuff and yes, I can say I played through it entirely error-free.

Oh yes, it's "Combine", not "colimbine"
and what on Earth is an "umperllea"?

An "umperllea" is basically a retarded umpire they use for very low level woman's college softball games. That's all you need to know.

You have the right to think and say what you want, but you are totally wrong. At least in my opinion.

No, a few things that were present in the proof-of-concept movies shown at E3 were not implemented.

jesus christ sorry god ive been up for 5 days striaght and my vision is blurry rite now

I'm at "Entanglement." No errors so far. GJ Valve  Just starting to seem like its going to be too short :(

They took out the trapdown part, because they new their IA was not as advance they claimed it would be.

That's one hell of an assumption to make. Care to provide your evidence?

Traptown became Ravenholm. That much ought to be apparent to anyone that has seen the videos and played the game.

That's the biggest load of gash I've ever read. What a load of scraggy, lice infected cock. Not a single valid point in one whole paragraph.

HL2 is a great game. It is not however, perfect and does have many faults which look more obvious because around tha faults everything looks great.
The AI is really very weak compared to what we were led to believe. I played the game on HARD to start with and found it to be one of the easiest FPS agmes I have ever played. Not just becasue there are health packs everywhere, but because the AI is so weak and predictable - as well as actually stupid.
FarCry has far better AI, but HL2 is still the better game.
This is a fansite though - so expect to get no intelligent comments - just flames, if you "dare" to say HL2 is not perfect.

Half life 2 is not perfect.

And im not saying that as a joke

If he worded it better i'd of probably agreed with him. I don't think HL2 is even close to what it was meant to be, i'm not saying its a shit game because i'd be lying but it certaintly isn't the best FPS and yes like he said, the AI is very basic to what it was hyped by Valve to be...it has just as many scripted sequences as Doom3 has.

Like all games they all have there moments, but give some time HL2 will be pushed aside and something new will catch our eye. You never know I might be months, years, weeks or days in my matter

Quantity of scripted sequences is irrelevant though compared to the relative quality of those scripted sequences.
Both games have their highpoints in that regard.
Only an idiot would claim Half Life 2 to be perfect but it takes a complete moron to pretend that anyone would take such action. And a bit of a loser to try and use that as any kind of realisic argument.

Oh yeah, and they'd be fat too. Really fat. Like they'd been eating biscuits all day.

Well what about the hacker. The demos were out before the game got hacked. i am sure valve had to change some stuff.

umperllea's were originally going to fight alongside the Biozeminades in the toilet/sewer level "Floaters" but unfortunately they were cut for some reason :(

I considered the E32004 binks to be many times cooler than the 2003 ones, and the 2004 were all actual gameplay videos, 2003 was a glorified techdemo (a poor one when you look back, compared to how it looks now). The 2003 may have looked cooler at them time because it was all new and exciting.

I never claimed the game too be perfect i just went by there ad's all over the place G4 T.V. HALF LIFE 2 THE GROUND BREAKING A.I. IN ACTION! turns out all those were scripted E3 demo's Half-life 2 has the most advanced A.I. the gaming industry has ever seen! i believed them turns out 1/2 of it was a lie

zxxgp
there was no hacker valve released it too convince you people that since that happend they would have too push back the Release date and the thing they were worried about was HL2 multiplayer for the source code if you look at it there is no HL2 multi it's only a single and when it downloaded the stolen copy of HL2 when that happend you could clearly see that Half Life 2 was no where being done there was like only 5 levels completed!

Yes, Valve released the unfinished build early, including all their source code that any malicious person could use to build their own game engine, along with the source code to a licensed physics engine that wasn't Valve's to give away, and in addition to that, factor in the fact that Valve never said that the theft caused them to delay the game at all and the fact that they admitted that it wasn't done and that they didn't mention anything about any potential concerns for multiplayer, and it all makes you look very silly indeed.

I name thee troll. Begone.

Nice, nice indeed Pi, pure ownage ;)

Can we have a vote off for the troll? :naughty:

Actually, no. It means I have to be all responsible and stuff.
I'd rather use my brain and make someone look stupid before resorting to my moderator abilities :)

wow Pi Me Rho thats really cool of you do you feel better now?

oh so he is rite about everything?? so he must be your god then huh since he is so rite about everything you computer people are all the same you live on 1 platform and thats im better then you and your nothing thats complete B.S. if you ask me

The point is that what I said is actually correct. What you said was, well, utter shite.

It's a little thing called "getting your facts right before you make yourself look a twat by spouting your opinions on a website that's viewed by thousands of people daily"

Oh, and I am better than you.

Personally im not too sad about it, i just wish Valve showed the game as it is and not a glorified tech demo..I would have still bought it but when they set the sight so high, and you play it and its not as high as it was...Well it kinda ruins the experience. I would much rather they show AI how it was/is and everything else ((Though the graphics live up to the vids.))

Traptown is now apart of ravenholm. It's just so different than the E3 vids now no one recognizes it.

I don't know about the AI part.

Actually.

When you jump in the water basin thing and call the elevator, block off the door and the fast zombies will come through the window in the roof.

OH SNAP!

I don't know about you, but I remember something about Valve attending E3 2004. I faintly remember them showing a new set of demos. And when I played those November 16th, the AI was just as good as they showed there. Oddly enough, back in may/june, everyone was like "woah, those 2003 videos were merely techdemo's, THIS is real gameplay", something that was even stated by Valve themselves, and yet, here we are, november 2004, and people are still crucifying Valve for "lying in 2003".

I guess being selective in your argumentation makes a better case if you want to bash/criticize someone.

Aye, That scared the living shite outta me.

I was all like "Haha, you bitches, I closed the door on you!. Now what ya gonna do?!". I hear glass shattering, Turn around, HOLY SHAT!!. That part freaked me the most. Mostly because of my own stupidity in not even realizing there were glass skylights above me.

traptown was indeed ravenholm. this was always the case even in the stolen build the tech demo "traptown" an the actual ravenholm part of the game were diffirent. The part with the swinging iron bar & falling dumpster were never part of ravenholm....only the e3 demo traptown.

altho i have to say valve did present those 2003 demos as the actual game. Interesting the part with the strider blowing up the bridge got cut becuase this was actually in the stolen build as a level. Must have had some problems with it :(
