soundscape too hard ... block sound?

:afro: ok all that codeing crap for soundscapes = screw it

im sticking to amb_gen but is thare a way to "block" the sound so you dont hear it though the walls?
 
as far as i know.. nope. sorry .. but its actually realistic .. if you have a huge thing going on, on the other side of the wall you can actually hear it ...
 
but its just a pipe with steam...i dont want that being hear though 15ft of dirt and crete :cheers:

I'm still new to mapping, so I might be completely wrong. But couldn't you parent the ambient_generic to the pipe or steam somehow? That way it would only play near the pipe?

I made a train awhile back, and when I asked how to make the sound of the train move with the train (so you would only hear it near the train) thats how they told me to do it, and it worked. But again, maybe it doesn't work in this case? =\
