Hey there!

After DOD:S released i thought to myself "hey lets try it and see how well it works"

Well here i am now with one big question! Is the sound stuttering problem fixed (i still experience it and it pisses me so mutch off:() or is there any workarround available? I searched a bit and all info where from 2004. Sorry for reposting that topic, i hope someone can give me a hint.

Cya!

Sound stuttering? Wasn't that fixed like a year ago lol? Even the turning corners and experiencing slowdowns has been fixed, works uber smooth here. :-\ It might be your hardware man since those are fixed..

there is no sound stuttering problem it was fixed in like febuary or something

Speaking of which, how do you turn off autosaves? Setting sv_autosave to 0 doesn't seem to help.

It's not so much a sound stuttering problem, as an HD access speed problem. When you first hear a sound, it has to be loaded from your HD. If your RAM is crap then it'll take longer to access making a little stutter. It's the same for loading models, not just sounds.

Firstly moan at valve for storing things inside GCF files which take longer to access, then defrag your HD, then buy more RAM.

TY for the info. I guess when playing DOD:S there is no autosafe ;)

VALVE SUCKS A BIG MONKEH ASS!
"moan at valve" *check*

Will defrag my HDD when getting home today.
*check*

"buy more RAM"
Mhh i have 1g of corsair XMS quality ram so i dont think it causes the problem.

I dont think its my system, maybe i should update my soundstorm drivers *mhh*

The stuttering was never 'fixed', just half-arsed masked, loads of people still get it in HL2. And yes if you have it in HL2 most likely it'll be in DOD:S
Is for me :(

Note the 2 gigs of ram in your sig. I think that's the only real solution. :)

Holy shit, how many times have I said this is bullshit and shown you this.

Are you having trouble comprehending it?

I'll put it in big letters for you.

THE GCF'S ARE JUST AS FAST IF NOT FASTER THEN USING THE CRACKED VERSION.

I HAVE USED BOTH TO TEST THIS OUT, I DIDNT GET STUTTERING ON EITHER VERSIONS AND THEY BOTH LOADED UP JUST AS FAST(IT WOULD GO EITHER WAY SOMETIMES BUT ONLY BY A COUPLE OF SECONDS)

MY FREIND HAD STUTTERING IN THE RETAIL VERSION, SO AS AN EXPERIMENT I TRIED THE CRACKED VERSION, AND GUESS WHAT HE STILL HAD STUTTERING! AND THEN I CLEANED OUT HIS PC DEFRAGGED HIS HARDRIVE AND DID SOME MISC MAINTENENCE AND HIS STUTTERING WAS GONE.

Read up on how windows opens individual files, and then read up on how the GCF handles files, and you will see what you speak is bullshit.

SO IN CLOSING, PLEASE STOP SPREADING FUD WHEN WHAT YOU SPEAK IS BULLSHIT.

Ben instead of flaming StardogChampion to dead you could tell me what tweaks you have applied to the comp. of your friend.

Just normal maintenence, defraggin clearing out spyware.

Making sure his hardware was in tune with everything.

Basic stuff.

Thanks, thats what i am doing right now. We will se if it helps. Sadly enough i will not be albe to test it before the next weak.
