Spawning entities?

Hey, I would like to know how to spawn entities in hl2 via the console. Is it similar to hl1? I tried give moster_whatever and give modelname and test_createntity blankblank. If it is similar to hl1, what are the known names for the entites like combine soldiers, antlions and zombies? This would be useful to me at the moment....

But to give you a start, one of the methods is npc_create then npc_zombie or npc_antlion and so on.
