I was just going through my ign insider account - and saw that the sc3 was in the top category. I really didn't bother much since I expected some doom 3 like stuff but I'm fairly amazed after seeing the videos in action. SC 3 was made pc game for show for a good reason it seems - it truly is remarkable.

The use of shaders and reflections and sheens is awesome - they are very much like half-life 2. So this game pretty much rivals valve's tech big-time. The models are a cross between half-life 2's realistic faces and doom 3's plastic graphics - in the end they look better than both of them. Dynamic shadows and lighting is definately the prime thing here - and to tell you the truth it looks awesome.

One of the vids showed sam cutting a sheet and it was unbelieveable realistic - the sheet flowed as sam passed by.

I'm stilling watching them (in awe) and will post some more views.

Let's not stary from the topic - I liked the PoP developer commentry though, the new moves and combat looks fun but the graphics now seem dated compared to all the new games coming out.

In this next video I saw water spilled over some galsshouse floor. The splashes and the reflections were so realistic I couldn't believe my eyes or ears.

Well, they're hugely different games with hugely different goals. I don't think the Splinter Cell engine can really handle the kind of expansive enviroments that PoP 2 needs.

I saw a video which shows some of the interactions - unfortunately the animations aren't so good, at times it looks like sam is holding a wax dummy...but none the less I believe this game will give hl2, doom3 and halo 2 a run for their money.

I heard UbiSoft Shanghai is making Splinter Cell 3. Or was that something else?

Oh ok, I can watch some vids for it.

The one where sam grabs the dude through the screen is awesome.

I was impressed when I saw them too. Sam Fischer seems to be a much bigger badass this time around.

Ubisoft montreal...canadian power, can you feel it?

The last video shows rock pillars that look as though they have just come out of unreal 3 engine - they have all the sleeky goodness and are bumpy (bump-mapped) bricks. The environment effects are AWESOME...rain literally splatters on sam and his stealth suit becomes wet. Sam hangs on a lighthouse and throws the NPC down to his death. I want this game now!!!

:) Props to the Canadians, Splinter Cell 3 looks badass. The graphics are impressive, but I am impressed mostly by the gameplay mechanics especially for multiplayer I.E. climbing on another play as a laddy, or giving boosts to get over a wall.

first off, id like to say that it does indeed look sweet
couple things though
firstly, i hope they change the ambient music theme.. cause its getting old
second, it would be nice if they implemented some better facial animations, like we see in hl2
i noticed when sam grabbed a guy early on in the movie, neither of them showed any reaction on their faces
other than that, im sure itll be a a fantastic game

Nice multiplayer vid, very cool interactions.

This game uses Pixel Shader 3 right?

How does he hide in the dark when he has lights coming off him?

His little things are really just so the player can see him, bad guys don't pick up on it.

SC3 looks interesting, I didn't think much of the series as it got a bit boring for me after a few levels. I played around a bit on the MP demo for PT and the gameplay was pretty sweet.

Does anyone know if they will work on raising the player limit on MP for SC3? I'm hoping for at least 10 or 12 players. Maybe they could also make the security team outnumber the spec ops... I always thought uneven odds would be cooler.

I doubt they will raise the limit, having 10 or 12 spies trying to hack up a building is a little overkill

I meant overall player limit. I'd really like to see somehting like 20 mercs against 5 spies or so... of course the security force would have to be nerfed somewhat, not sure how but I think that kind of gameplay is awesome.

Ah, ok.

That might be alright, make the maps bigger, spread out the objectives, have mercs around those certain areas, it could work.

I played the demo SC: Pandora Tomorrow. I really didn't take the SC series seriously...all that stealth...but man...I actually like it a lot! I also like Thief: Deadly Shadows.

Nah. I'm not from canada, but I like giving credit where it's due - even if that means exaggerating a bit. :P

Splinter cell pandora tommorow is made by Ubisoft Shanghai, Ubi montreal were working quietly on a new engine for 2 years which the finally unleashed in this year's E3.
