Hello,

Could someone tell me if all games that use steamworks have steam cloud?

No they don't, Left 4 Dead has both, and I believe Half-life and Counter Strike 1.6 are the next two to get SteamCloud, nothing else does yet. SteamWorks is with pretty much all of Valve's Source games now (except HL2 / Episode 1 / HL2 DM I think), the officially supported 3rd party mods and many games on Steam not made by Valve.

while we're on the subject is there a program available that would allow my retail version of FarCry2 to work inside of Steam?? I got it for $20 on Amazon new during the holidays but I'd love to have it work on Steam for practicability

I don't think Far Cry 2 is supported. Many games such as Empire: Total War can be bought retail and CD keys can be entered into Steam for Steam features to be added (SteamWorks). I don't think Far Cry 2 supports this feature, try putting the key into 'register a produce I own' and see if it works. It may do, but I'm not aware of support for this currently.

Your other option is to 'add a non-steam game' which is on your 'my games' list, in the bottom left corner. Doing this, allows you to add the executable and play games while using the community overlay in game (so you can use the Steam browser / friends / group chat etc.) and works just like normal Steam games.

Although the game isn't really running through Steam, it allows you to keep a hold of the features from Steam community which are really useful.

Hello Discrate :) fancy seeing you 'round these parts...

thank you man, that was very informative. I had bought retail versions of other HL plus expansions and they have been ported over for free before but I wasn't too sure on how it all worked. Going to try it out now

I tried doing this with my retail version of San Andreas, and it totally spazzed out on me
