Steam is in offline mode

What am I doing wrong? Been trying to register since 10am, but keep getting the message steam is in offline mode. Any ideas anyone.

I have the same problem. Except I know why mine is. Im at Uni, and the network here doesn't allow me to connect to Steam (or use P2p software etc.). I went up to IT to see about it, but there was no one there who"knew what (I was) talking about", so I have to go back after lunch!!!Stupid Network! :frown:

Does anyone know any way to get around this? I have heard something about HTTP Tunnels, but i've tried a few and they don't seem to work (or I don't know how to work them).
