I know this is probably in the wrong forum but i'm just posting here since I know it will get more views and hopefully can get the answer i'm looking for.

Just tried to play CS:S, and I got a message even before it loads the screen:

"Your video drivers appear to be out of date and could cause problems if you choose to continue and run the game. We strongly recommend that you follow the link below and update the video drivers to the latest version available from your driver vendor."

Windows Version: Windows XP
Description: Radeon 9800 Pro
Version: 6.14.10.6476

Has anybody else gotten this recently, is it a Steam glitch, or is there a new driver for the Radeon that I don't know about?

Thx in advance guys :cheese:

Catalyst 5.5 came out a few weeks ago, it might be that ;)

Just click the "Don't warn me again" checkbox and tell it to be quiet.

Also, quick edit: If you don't have SP2, and you do get it, never try to uninstall that thing. Doing that is what caused my XP to screw up, forcing me to reformat, and after that I got that stuttering problem in my HL2 that can't be fixed.

thx for your suggestion Deemo, i did download 5.5 (I was running on 4.9), and now it's working fine, PLUS, it fixed my de_inferno problem i had a while back with some of the textures missing

mods, feel free to delete or close this

once again, thx guys
