Steam's died on me

Anybody have any idea? I've tried deleting the blob file, and crap, and it's completely flummoxed me.

Hmmm.....a friend got the exact same thing when he tried installing Steam on his computer. Maybe you should try playing in offline mode?

I've reinstalled Steam, and so far its running stable. But now I've got to reinstall all of my work. Bwuh.
