I remember in the Gamespot interview, it was said that Aftermath's length was still being tuned. So, this would explain the recent November timeframe (of course they said before the end of the year, so my end of summer release theory was a little off). But, if we won't have it until November, I'm hoping AM will be a little longer than 33% of HL2. Also, I've been running a little theory. If they stick to a November timeframe, Valve will have shown itself capable of developing an episode within a year's time. I wonder, if they'll release "episodic" content every year or so until HL3's release, and separate levels that showcase the new tech, which would rock. Anyway, those are my speculations.

yea that would be really great :D

P.S wrong forum :P

Yeh that would be good, but only probably possible if Valve were an army of slaves working day and night. I think by the time they are working properly on hl3, hl2 will be the least of their concern.

I doubt it'll be even 33% of HL2's length tbh.

Damn 33% only that is like nothing,, a couple of hourse and game over i really dont want an expansion that is that short :(

It isn't a full blown expansion its an episode. And since it is an episode I really don't care how long it is.

So just its an episode its automatic should be damn short ? Give me a break put some effor and make so it lasts a while.

Yep, I expect it to be rather short. It is not at all intended to last that long really. I doubt its something that'll be over in a couple of hours, but depending on how you play games I wouldn't say it'll last you a good while.

If it will cost $10, then 33% would be fine. But if they put another $50 tag on it, then it would suck.

I'd rather they spend more time concentrating on HL3.
But Aftermath may as well be Half-Life 3, as it's a direct continuation of the story! Aftermath deserves their full concentration, and 50% of HL2's length is not an unreasonable length IMO. Similar play-time was achieved by Opposing Force, and that was in the hands of developers relatively alien to the tech. The 33% that was previously suggested would be ok, but the more the better...

My memory is a little fuzzy, but wasn't Opposing Force almost HL2's length?. Well, as long as AM has concrete gameplay/solid story, then I don't have another problem with it. And as long as they release another episode a year from now, or better, every six months!!:E

Yep, I've lost it.

It seemed extremely close, though. Its been along time since I played Op4, well, obviously. I'd say it was atleast 90% of HL2 IMO:rolling:

Chances are, you played Opposing Force in 1999 or there abouts.

You in 1999: Crap Player.
You Now: 6 years worth of FPS experience better than a Crap Player.

HL2 is of no comparable length to Opposing Force. Your playtime may be though, simply because your difficulty with such games has greatly decreased.
