Anyone playing with these yet? I unboxed a strange shotgun, grenade launcher and sticky launcher. I am especially happy with the latter two, because I play Demo a lot. My nade launcher has the best rank so far, Gore-spattered. Seeing the kill count go up in the description is very satisfying. Hopefully Valve will add more of these. I personally can't wait for a Medigun that ranks up according to healing done.
 
That is pretty cool, Like scratching notches into your weapon. :D It would be good if the item color changed once you reached a certain number of kills, though maybe that would be a little easy to cheat.

Yeah, it would be awesome if their appearance would change a little with rank. Nothing special, just a couple of entrails and blood spats would be fine.

Another strange weapon or at least one refined metal it seems. Depends on the weapon too I guess. I unboxed both the nade and the sticky launcher on the first try and that was very lucky because both seem quite popular.
 
I'd heard people talking about 'strange' weapons, but wasn't sure what they were talking about. Do these have any features besides tracking some metric? Strange isn't the same as Unusual, is it? I'm still sitting on a piece of Unusual scrap metal.

edit - read post. Is there a way to tell if someone else's weapon's name is a Strange designation as opposed to something they named it with a custom tag?
 
Anything named with a name tag has quotation marks around its name and strange weapons have orange text. They don't do anything other than track kills.

A new series of crates is out with new weapons. Jimbo got a #25 crate, containing Pyro weapons. He got a strange flame thrower from it. Any news what's in series #22 - 24?
 
I got my minigun.. that's all I really need. Maybe a strange knife would be nice too.

If you want strange Demoman weapons, you uncrate series X, and should get one? If it's a roll of the dice which weapon and class you get in each crate, no thanks.

Classes are crate specific. #19 for demo weapons, #20 for soldier weapons, #21 for heavy weapons, #23 for scout weapons, #24 for spy weapons and #25 for pyro weapons. Dunno what's in #22 crates.
 
#22 was the refreshing summer cooler crate. Scout and Spy crates don't look as appealing, Pyro one has some good stuff though. I imagine the medic medigun / kritz stranges will show assists or amount of ubers hit.
